Dad I wanna Be A Writter…

Its the story of My buddy… Vedant Vakil …

Dad, I want to be a writer.

With the tonnes of stress and anxiety in my mind. Pressing up the F4 key of my laptop, Just to see the result of CBSE 12th Board. Hundreds of calls from my friends (Not hundreds actually, the exaggerating me). My Aai was praying before the God. The result declared. I passed with 91% score. I was happy. I got 95 in English, the language and literature the love of my life. In few days, after the call ceremony and melodramatic phase of felicitations, I collected all my strength and went to my Dad. I said "Dad I got shortlisted in St. Xavier's College,Mumbai for graduation in literature. I want to pursue my career in this field." I went on like "Farhaan Qureshi" of the 3 idiots. My father remained quite for a moment and later he started laughing and said " Beta krega kya writer ban k". I was numb and unanswered that time. My father held my hand and said " This stuff is not a bread winner. Try something else. " I said nothing. I was feeling the most sadistic feeling that time.  Pathetic it was. There was a silence in the room. I stared on him there I saw his eyes were losing the shine after seeing my mood swings from a Commerce professional to a writer wearing a kurta-pajama. It touched my soul. I decided to agree at his point. I said to him I will be professional soon. He started to smile again his smile was incredible and "aww" worthy. Now I am heading towards the dream what my father had seen through my eyes. But that "me" left in me wants to tell again to my Father that "Dad, I want to be writer. Please let me be that. "

PS: The love of your parents is irreplaceable. They all want to see there child a stable and settled in life. Nothing wrong in it. If you want to follow your heart, go for it. But remember the love should not be the cost of it.  Life is not about exploring and finding yourself it's about creating yourself. I am heading towards that..
